Naughty Noses Gala - Nifty Fifties Edition, is the primary fundraising event for the Jest for Joy Clown-Doctoring Foundation in 2011. 

The Jest for Joy Foundation provides clown-doctoring programs in long-term adult care medical facilities in BC.  We are the only organization that provides this valuable service for adults who are confined to long-term care facilities.  The clown-doctors bring wit, physical theatre and song, and sometimes just an immense amount of compassion to residents, who truly appreciate the burst of life and energy that the performers provide.  Their work garners great support from the staff of the Centre, as they too benefit from the change of pace and atmosphere that accompanies a visit from the clown-doctors. 

At our Gala, you will be entertained by Juno Award winning musician Michael Creber and his wife who will provide atmospheric 50's jazz and nationally renowned stand-up comedian, Greg Kettner.  Fantastic hors d'oeuvres will be served and you will have an opportunity to bid on amazing silent and live auction items.  Bring your cheque book - you'll be glad you did! Door prizes and more will be available for winning as well.

The funds raised at the Naughty Noses Gala go to support the program at the George Pearson Centre in 2011 and also to funding the expansion of the program to other Centres in and around Vancouver where clown-doctoring is needed and desired as an addition to the holistic treatment of patients and residents. 

Your support is not only extremely appreciated by Jest for Joy, but also by the residents, their families and the staff of the Centres where the Jest for Joy clown-doctors ply their trade.  After matching by a corporate sponsor, $50 of donated funds provides two hours of clown-doctoring by the clown-doctors and can bring a smile to the face of up to 30 residents and staff.  Those smiles often last well after the clown-doctors have left the building for the day.
